the SOL album was released here in the USA
on February 08, 2010,

so far it has sold 1.2 million units, or platinum

will it sell as many units as the groups previous albums here in the USA,

the last 5 albums has sold or

1. Diamond Life 4x platinum ( 4 million)

2. Promis 4x platinum ( 4 million )

3. Stronger than pride 3x platinum ( 3 Million)

4. love deluxe 4x platinum ( 4 million)

5 Lovers Rock 3x Platinum ( 3 Million)

6. S. o Love 1x platinum ( 1.2 Million)

the album sales are really slow,

yes I know that this could be due to anumber of factors,
1 would be the economy, consumers aren't just spending as much as they once were.

but I'm praying the album does just as good as the others,

I think the executives at Sony, should put out 3 more singles and videos and tv appearances, to really push sales up.

I think you have to take into consideration current sales stats. Albums do not sell as much today as they did in 2000/2001. Albums today sale about 1/3 of what they did back then so the current sales for SOL are very good. It is already one of the biggest selling albums of the year so it doing great for the year 2010.

I do agree that there should be more promotion however, if you check rockonthenet.com and type in Sade the time line will show that the sales were gradual. Diamond life took a few years before it went 4x platinum, I believe it was 10 years. So I'm pretty sure this album will do really well I just hope they push more singles and videos. The tour will definitely push sales, when it comes, most likely in 2011
